Baden Street U10

Winter Futsal 2010

Baden St. lost a short handed game to Faber Homes

Last Saturday, Baden Street showed up but not all of our players could be there.  In fact, most of our players did not show up.  We had only four players, Sharika, Alicia, Daedae and Chandler.

We borrowed Jaslene from the Faber Homes team and still had a very energetic game.  Baden lost by the official score of 3-0 although the Fabler keeper did allow one to get in over the line, where the referee was in a bad location to see it.  So Alicia would have gotten credit for that goal and the final score would have been 3-1.

Kids on both teams were well behaved and played with a high level of energy.  Thanks to Shonda Collier for bringing the two girls to the game.  Thanks also to Hernan for supplying a player to us so that we could have an even handed game.

Week #4 Baden lets one slip away.

On December 19th, Baden U-10 played SWAN U-10 at the Thomas Ryan Center on Webster Ave.  Although we started out down a man, José Figueroa arrived just a couple of minutes late and Baden dominated the game in the early going.  After an own goal by a SWAN defender, Raequawn Alexander put in two goals and Anthony Jubray got one to establish a 4-0 lead.  We set a passing requirement of 20 passes before we could shoot on goal again but that became unnecessary as SWAN put in one score after another.  In the final 5 minutes, Baden was hanging on to a single point lead when the SWAN team struck again to tie it up at 4-4.

Anthony Jubray and Raequawn Alexander were the players of the  gamae for Baden.

Week #3 Baden comes back strong against Flint.

In our first game at Flint St. this season, the Baden U-10 team overcame a big obstacle to post a strong showing against the Flint St. team.

We began with just 5 players (no subs) and Flint brought it on, scoring 4 goals in the first 10 minutes.  Help came in the form of Alicia Gayden and DaeDae Douglas, who showed up a bit late but that marked a big turn around.  From that point forward, Flint scored another 3 goals, but Baden St. scored 4, making the final score 7-4 in favor of Flint.

The Baden St. team never gave up and it was clear that if we have most of our players there, we can compete with any other team in the league.  I selected two players as "player of the game", i.e. Alicia Gayden and Sarika Hirsi.
